Providing A Hand Up Not Just a Hand Out to Oregon
As an Oregon-based nonprofit, Crossroads Communities (CRC) is dedicated to connecting vulnerable populations in Rural Oregon to supportive and stabilization services through comprehensive case management, referrals to program partners and direct delivery of programming. Regardless of where someone is coming from (houselessness, substance use disorder, survivor of domestic violence, severe and persistent mental illness, or judicial restraint), they have a road to recovery and, at some point, they will reach Crossroads.
Located in Lebanon, Oregon, CRC focuses on ensuring that any clients engaging its staff are able to receive guidance and support in navigating whatever steps are needed to receive the help that they need; this is known as a “no wrong door approach”, in which CRC can either help clients directly, or refer them to program partners who will be able to provide the needed service. This means that, even if CRC does not offer a program directly, we know who to reach out to in order to help those in need.
As a Community Development Corporation, Crossroads Communities is dedicated to reinforcing program partners among community based organizations, non-governmental organizations, and local city/county offices in order to fill in holes in the social safety net. CRC believes that many hands make light work but only if they’re pulling in the same direction. We help others do good well.
Funding in Rural Oregon has always been limited compared to more metropolitan areas but, as we transition into new political climates and the way social services receive funding are changing, it is more important than ever that rural communities find their collective voice; Crossroads Communities believes in elevating those voices so that we can speak in unison. After all: the most beautiful choirs rely on many singers combining into a whole.
