Providing A Hand Up Not Just a Hand Out to Oregon
As an Oregon-based nonprofit, Crossroads Communities (CRC) is dedicated to connecting vulnerable populations in rural Oregon to supportive and stabilization services through comprehensive case management, referrals to program partners, and direct delivery of programming. Regardless of where someone is coming from (houselessness, substance use disorder, domestic violence survivorship, severe and persistent mental illness, or judicial restraint), there is a road to recovery, and at some point many individuals find their way to Crossroads.
Crossroads Communities provides outreach, housing stability programs, and resident support services across Linn and Marion Counties, including on-site support at Applegate Landing Apartments in Lebanon and Applegate Terrace Apartments in West Salem. Crossroads Communities proudly helps coordinate and support the ongoing development of the LASAR Partnership, strengthening collaboration across Lebanon and surrounding communities.
While our primary office is located in Lebanon, Oregon, CRC focuses on ensuring that any client engaging with our staff receives guidance and support in navigating whatever steps are needed to access help. This is known as a “no wrong door approach,” meaning CRC may assist clients directly or connect them with trusted program partners who provide specialized services. Even when CRC does not offer a program itself, we know who to reach out to in order to help those in need.
As a Community Development Corporation, Crossroads Communities is committed to reinforcing collaboration among community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, and local city and county offices to help fill gaps in the social safety net. CRC believes that many hands make light work but only when they are pulling in the same direction. We help others do good well.
Funding in rural Oregon has always been more limited than in metropolitan areas. As political landscapes shift and funding models evolve, it is more important than ever that rural communities find their collective voice. Crossroads Communities believes in elevating those voices so we can speak in unison — because the strongest communities, like the most beautiful choirs, are built from many voices working together.
